Are those photos of what you built? If so, nice work! Internally I see 3 conductors. Are they (1 GND), (2 Heater Element) and (3 Thermistor +)?
Did the ebay seller return your request for data?
I really can't tell from the photos but here's another thought. In the early days of the Telegraph insulated wire was very expensive and not that common. Conductors were separated and insulated from each other with individual insulators, standoffs and feed through techniques.
Is it possible to strip the low temp insulation off your original Thermistor and and do the above with high temp materials?
