Hello
Have anybody in this forum put together the kit ( k179 stepper motor kit together).
Question is after putting the kit together did the stepper motor kit K179 Work?
I put together the kit and cannot get the motor to move ,the motor is unipolar motor.
I notice the motor case get very hot and the motor Don't Move.
Anybody know what can be wrong with the kit?

I try two different motor i got both motor from all electronics
www.allelectronics.com.
(motor one) is CAT SMT-358 6-wire stepper motor 12 volts 8watt .
(motor two) unipolar stepper CAT# SMT-108 made by mabuchi# PF35T-48L4 7 volts 350MA.
Both motors don't move.
One of the IRFZ44N mosfet did get very hot after awhile with power supply to the pc board.
Thank any good infro.

If the motor gets hot then you may be using it with too high a voltage.

If the mosfet gets very hot, check to ensure you haven't shorted the output somehow.

Do you have a link to a description of the kit? (preferably with a circuit diagram)

edit:there's lots more that could be wrong too -- just not enough info yet to be able to say exactly what

edit2: there's lots of matching kits. Not sure if they're all the same.

How many wires does your stepper motor have?
