IMG_1336.JPG I have a new Holland tractor controller which has suffered failure, there are 6 ST manafactured components which are labelled VN05N that are a common failure on thes module and need to be replaced , I have tried to order from Farnell and Mouser electronics but they no longer sell them and list them as obsolete, is there a similar style component I could use which would have the same effect ??

By using the search function in many data sheet sites you can get lists of similar devices - as this link shows:

http://category.alldatasheet.com/index.jsp?sSearchword=HIGH SIDE SMART POWER

but you also have to check the spec of the original device and ensure the replacement offers AT LEAST the same volts/amps capacity - and, ideally, the same pin-out.

The results as shown indicate ST as the main (only?) supplier so perhaps you need to look at places other than Mouser etc to find them. And when you DO find a source, buy LOTS!

Last resort (or maybe FIRST resort in your case....) would be Chinese suppliers:

where you might get lucky and find full spec devices supplied - or get one from the five that'll do!

It's very hard to recommend a Chinese knock off. There's a chance they may be ok, but there's also a chance they are cheap knock off that won't meet the original specification.

There may be some suppliers still selling nos (new old stock) items which are original and this meet the original specification. They may not be cheap...

Go for the old stock OEM's .
Also there is not much power on the 25 pin connector, but from the aspects of environs and vibration . . . a good preventative maintenance would involve a good fresh solder addition and flow soldering of all of the 25 connectors on both sides. Their factory job certainly looks skimpy on the present connections.
I can see the whole unit being hermetically sealed . . . but is that open housing the original treatment of the H010/01Y power mechanical relay at the top ?
And would this NH be about a 2003-2004 unit ?
