Hi,

I have a pair of stereo headphones that have a single cable that comes out of the left speaker.
The cable contains 4 plugs: copper, red, green, blue. Yes, blue.
It's a Sennheiser pair which has volume control.

So I need help figuring out where every wire goes in the stereo plug. Thanks.

Possibly, the 4 wires are composed of 2 wires going to each speaker. In this case, 2 will be connected together and connect to the largest section of the plug (furthest away from the tip) and the other 2 will connect to the tip and the ring.

Finding out which is which is not too hard.

Get a hearing aid battery (something very small and low voltage, and capable of only a low current). Put the headphones on your head and try tapping (tap, not tape) a pair of wires onto the terminals of the battery. You will hear a click in (hopefully one) ear when you get a correct combination of wires. Then the other pair should be for the other ear.

If the sound in the headphones is *loud* then you've picked a far too powerful a battery and you may have damaged your headphones, so make sure you pick something very small (or very flat). (or use a resistor in series -- around 1k should be fine)
