Hello I have a rather annoying problem and I'm stuck between trying to
fix it or just buy a new one. I hae a ROland MC-505 Synthesizer and the
2 line LCD screen slowly started to get more and more dead pixels until
just recently where it has been completely illegible. I took the case
apart and removed the LCD unit from the case. with the case still apart,
I hooked up the LCD and tried to see what part of it had failed. On
closer inspection, the pwb connecting the pcb to the lcd screen had
delaminated from the main PCB. What type of adhesive is used to connect
these ribbon cables? I'm guessing it delaminated because the backlight
leds on the parts wide of the pcb produce a good amount of heat ad sit
right over the ribbon cable connection. Is this something I can repair
easily or should I shell out the $50 for a replacement display?

You might like to try the Scotch 3M range of conductive Z-axis tapes:

If you can find out wich controller this LCD has, maybe you can replac
the whole part. It can be a standard HDxxxxx display wich is very eas
to get hold of.
