Hi, I have 2x160W speakers lying at home, I wana get a amplifier and use it to drive the speakers. How do I calculate the right size of the amplifier I need for the application.
Thanks

We need to know more about the speakers. Impedance, frequency range etc.

Amplifier power output is largely irrelevant but obviously not to exceed the capabilities of the speakers.

And power ratings of speakers are often grossly exaggerated. If you 160W speakers weigh less than about 10 lbs each (the raw speaker, not the enclosure), I would be suspicious of the rating.

A speaker rated for 160W "peak" or "maximum" power has a real power rating of 80W if it is the truth, or 20W if they exaggerate.
