How do you tune an RF filter circuit. what is the test setup like and what are the basic procedures

How do you Tune RF circuit that are Lumped Element filters, filter bands, waveguide filters, Millimeter Wave Filters in the Low Pass, Band Pass, Band Stop, High Pass that are in the ranges from low MHz to the High GHz frequency ranges?

How do you measure Filters Parameters like S-Parameters, Phase Linearity, Filters Ripple, Pulse Ringing?

hi
welcome :)
normally you would use a sweep oscillator ( that covers the freq range of the filter) that is sync'ed to a spectrum analyser or network analyser
with that setup you would see where the filter is resonating and you would be able to adjust it accordingly

:) or try this...
Line-up without test gear
There are limited options for doing the same job with no test equipment, but people succeed nevertheless.
Usually a carrier wave is modulated with a tone and the set under test is tuned so that the tone can be heard. The RF stages are adjusted to maximise the clarity of the tone. The process needs to be carried out twice, once with the carrier tuned to the bottom of the passband, and again at the top of the passband.

Hi, You can modulate the filter with a filter program and simulate measuring filters parameters like S-Parameters, Phase Linearity, Filters Ripple, Pulse Ringing and get filters response to any input signal.
for eample google Superfilter program for RF and Digital filters combinations at:
superfilter.net
