It`s reading .001 / .002 Ohm with multimeter on continuity setting

yeah OK ... and most meters wont be overly accurate with such low values
I would suggest that it is OK and would only be faulty is measured open circuit

Sir Africangrey . . . . . . . (aka Mr parrot man ? )

Heh . . .Heh . . .Heh . . .. . . that low value sort of makes you wonder if they coiled the lead wires up inside as 4 or 4 ? coils and then poured in the ceramic slurry sealant into the cavity to cure. .

As low of a value as that is being . . . . in comparison to the CAPABILITIES / ACCURACY of your metering; you might "deoxidize" / clean your probe tips and give their OTHER lead ends a spin around in the typical bannana jack receptacles within the meter.
Then you touch the probes to see what total resistance loop error is being introduced, then measure your resistor and deduct that value.
BTW . . . . . what is this resistor being found in ?

Yes, I have an African Grey Parrot

It`s out of a LCD TV Power supply.

Most likely down to the accuracy of my meter (or lack of) getting no where near the .08 Ohms

After more testing i`ve now found a 10nm60n MOSFET TO-220F with all three pins shorted. now to find on in the UK.
