Hi, I have this Tv.
National colour tv
matsushita electric industrial co., Ltd. Made in japan
model TC-2620spmr

I require its remote control circuit with PCB diagram. I could not find it in market.
Any help to make its remote will be appreciated.
Tv main board PCB is attached.

It seems like a futile effort to make a remote control for a TV that old. They haven't been made in Japan for many years and it's a wonder that it still works. Certainly it has a short life left.

Regardless, I would buy a universal remote control that comes with a lot of codes and try each code listed for anything Matsushita or Panasonic, or perhaps contact some companies that much these remotes and ask if that model TV is supported.

Hi Dave,
I like wonders, like all others. It nice to read your suggestions.
I have tried some universal remotes, but in vain.
Can you suggest a more simple remote control circuit which can move this TV from stand by mode to on mode, in other words a one button remote. For other functions like volume and channels I will do the wonder later.

without knowing the specifics needed, you unfortunately ask the impossible :(

It mite not even be IR remote ??? is it
a lot of TV's back then used ultrasonic remotes

If you can find the schematic for the set you can discover the model of remote control IC that was used and, from that, the coding that the chip uses or, potentially, an actual matching 'sending' chip.

Hi kellys_eye,
Your suggestion is very good and hopeful. I will try to find the chip on board.
What are the steps to make/find "sending chip"? And how to do it? e.g., coding etc.

List the devices (IC's) on the circuit board beside the IR module (IC10, IC11???).

You can get datasheets for 99.9% of all IC's from the likes of http://www.alldatasheet.com/ that will show all the required information.

Hi kellys,
Is to make a remote control the "sending chip" is same as that on the receiving end on main board of the tv?

No, bu the datasheet for the receiving chip will identify the sending chip as they form a 'pair' - indeed the datasheet for the receiver may well show a schematic for a working circuit for the sender side. Other datasheets on the same type of device have done so (as I found some years ago when I was 'into' that kind of thing).

Hi kellys,
You have given a starting point. May it will take long, a month or two but I will try it. Thanks.
I will update the thread if the wonder comes to eye.

Matsushita is 'Panasonic' (I think) and the protocol for their old remote controls is:

http://users.telenet.be/davshomepage/panacode.htm

It doesn't state which device is used to generate this code and it may now be an obsolete device anyway but you can always use an Arduino (or similar) to chuck the signal out to an IR LED and 'play around'.

Worst case would be that the TV had its own processor and they coded the IR into that......

Anyway, whatever route you take, good luck in your search!

If you got hold of the full TV schematic it would be easier to hardwire a newer model remote control receiver into the control lines!

Hi kellys, you mentioned about full TV schematic. Unfortunately I do not have it. I only have layout which I have already uploaded here.
Can you guide from where i can download such old schematics?

Can you post a picture of the TV set - and a close-up (readable) image of the rear cover?

I can't find any results using Google which I find to be strange!

Hi kellys,
Both pictures are attached. The layout picture already uploaded was also captured from tv back hard board.

Information so far is that the set uses a Panasonic G11 chassis. I'm still trying to get more details.

Can you post a picture of the board attached to the IR receiver block i.e. the board with IC10 and IC11 on it?

Thanks for your sincere efforts.

Hi Kelly,
Figure is attached.
There is no IR module found as shown in layout diagram. Instead a IR receiver with number Fps 5138-1T is in its place, who's three wire connector is not connected to any thing. Its picture is also attached. And picture of empty case of IR module is also attached.
Waiting for your expert opinion.
