RCA Big Screen with fold over...

Ive just aquired a RCA PJR500sr 46 Projection tv.
haven't had much time in the past couple of days to
look at the chassis, but I can tell you it's a
Hatachi VP3X.

For a 21 year old projection system, this thing is in
pretty good shape.

however, it does have fold over.
Does anybody know what caps may cause this on this
chassis? Just looking to save some time.

Being new to projection...
Also, I'm getting an odd reflection/distortion from
somewhere. I'm guessing misaligned optics? It's only in
the bottom 5-6 inches of the image.
ie: with a white line across the screen in this area,
I see the line, plus a red line diagnally across the white.
A green in parallel, and the blue line diagnally the other
direction...

any help would be great.

Thanx

My Hitachi 50" has a removable panel behind the speaker grill cloth. Under
it are about 20 color alignment knobs. Tilt misalignments on horizontal
lines are controlled by the vertical key knobs (look for Key and Key-U/L).
One adjusts tilt at the top and top bottom (left and right for horizontal)
simultaneously. The other adjusts only the top (left for horizontal). I
had a friend generate a test grid of white lines and put it on a VHS tape.
It helps a lot with the alignment. The other thing you can use is white
movie credits that fill much of the screen.

Good luck,
Bryan
