I was wondering how wires stop working and how to fix them. I'm asking because i have a USB cable that I'm trying to use to charge something but it wont work. I thought it was the adapter at first so i plugged it into a computer and it still wouldn't charge. I know itd be easier to buy a new one and probably wouldn't be worth trying to fix it but i want to do it for personal satisfaction. Also how do wires break anyway? All i get when i normally ask people is that they splinched from bending them too much. Its a type A to type C generic black one

Wires are made from metal (usually copper).
Metals form a crystal lattice. When you bend a part made from metal (e.g. a wire) it deforms plastically. This is does by breaking bonds within the crystal structure, moving atoms and forming new bonds in the new place. With each of those break-and-make actions the structure of the metal becomes weaker and finally breaks.
