    Hello guys,

I am new to this site but i heard this is the place to get help.

So, the problem is that I have a Quint Power supply DC 24 V 5 A, which has shorted out.
I found the short between he L1 and L2 port.
I am not extremely knowledgeable on power supplies but I just want to know if it possible to fix this problem and how?
If this is possible that would be awesome for a new one is quite expensive.
    Any advice?...

    Welcome to the forum.

Take it apart! You have a short on the mains input side which usually means the main switching component (a transistor or a MOSFET) has gone short. You may also have a short in the main bridge rectifier. We really can't tell from a picture of the box!

We may also require you to take some test measurements. Do you have a test meter and can you use it? If not, suggest you get one and learn!

Okay so I took it apart and found that one component is busted, I am not sure what it is ..a transistor of sort maybe?
anyway, replacing it is not a problem, but I want to try and figure out what could cause it to get fried.
I think it must be because of a power surge I had recently.
Yes I can work a multimeter and I do have one at my disposal, no problem.

A wider view of the board would help too.
