We are building a CNC Plasma table that has 4 downdraft chambers under the cutting surface. Each chamber has a damper that needs to be activated was the X-Axis moves across the gantry. Each chamber is 25" wide. So as soon as the X-Axis starts to come up to a chamber it needs to close the circuit to open the dampener then as it gets to the end of the chamber is needs to open the circuit the close the chamber. It will do this four times across the entire table.

I'm not sure if proximity switches are the correct way to do this. If they are, how should I go about keeping the switch activated across the 25"s?

If anyone needs more explanation on what we are trying to do, just let me know. Thanks!

Since you have a gantry that is a substantial mechanical moving device, most sensors on CNC are simple micro mechanical momentary switches...
