With the advent of compact fluorescent spiral tubes, I'd bet there'd be a
nice demand for desk lamps with polished reflectors that would shine down
on a desktop and hold a compact fluorescent spiral light.

I can't find anyone who makes that either, all the desk lamps I'm finding
are the plain old crude types with the white paint inside a tight closed
cone shape, which seems like a real waste of the kind of light that
compact fluorescent spirals put out.

While not a nice desk lamp solution, I use a couple 23 watt Sylvania mini
spiral in a clamp light with the aluminum reflector. It actually works quite
nice at getting a lot of light on my work area without all the extra heat
reflected down.
