Hello and welcome to Electronics Point! The Homework Help forum has been created to allow students to obtain assistance with their electronics assignments. We won't be providing answers to questions posted here, but we can help you work through the problem - helping you to learn.

The following guidelines will help you get your question answered. Threads posted that don't follow these are likely to be ignored.

Before you post a question:

Post a descriptive title - Please don't use thread titles like "help me" or "urgent, stuck on homework", instead use something related to the problem, such as "555 Timer Calculation" or "How to choose the correct transistor".

Outline the problem in detail - Help us to help you by giving as much information about the problem as possible, including an outline of the overall project. Circuit diagrams and photos will also help. Take care when writing the post to include all the information you think will be needed and present it in an easy to read way. The more detail and information provided, the faster and more accurate any response will be.

Once you have explained the problem, don't just leave it there. Let us know what you have done so far and how you intend to tackle the question. You need to show some willingness to learn and put the work in, as others won't do this for you.

Don't expect an answer, expect help to work through the problem - This forum section is intended as an area where students can help each other to learn and experts can provide advice on how to work through problems. Answers to questions will not be provided, so anyone simply asking for this will find that their thread will be ignored. We will help you learn how to complete the problem yourself, which will be a much more rewarding task.

Please don't "bump" threads - If you have no responses to your thread, it may be that you haven't followed these guidelines. Consider updating your post with any progress you have made or add some detail. Remember, other members are being helpful by responding to any homework threads, so please be as courteous and accurate as you can.

Before you post a reply:

Be courteous in your reply - Remember, some people may be new to forums (and electronics) - so please treat all members with respect.

If the post lacks clarity or asks for an outright answer, just ignore it - this is the best way to deal with posts that don't follow the guidelines. Responding harshly will only cultivate an unpleasant atmosphere, but rewarding well thought out threads will ensure new posters know how to join in.
