OBD tester

I have an obd Innova3140 1and2 scan tool and i tried it on my Nissan car and it does not work is says 'link is not established' but it reads the protocol. When i used it on another car not a Nissan car it works.

I've got the same problem and just came across this to see if anyone had any suggestions, don't know if its the innova or the car that is faulty....

Perhaps Nissan use a different protocol, or perhaps the thing you're using does not implement the full protocol?

If two of you have the problem then it's unlikely to be either the car or the device (unless you're sharing) that's faulty. The issue is likely to be that they are simply incompatible.

I would recommend posting this on a car repair forum or maybe a Nissan specific forum.
