Greetings and felicitations!

I need ask with regards to a Radio shack Rooster crow alarm clock. Its
a black cased battery powered gizmo that uses a good loud simulated
rooster crow as an alarm.

My problem is that the buttons on it have aged and lost their function.
On taking one apart, I found that the circuit board and its functions
appear to be fully intact, but the buttons are nor longer driving any
function. The buttons appear to be solid blobs of rubber pressing
into a Printed circuit board. No clue at all as to what drives the
switch. Which is my question to the esteemed and propbably
intellligent people out there.

If any one has an idea of how this kinda switch works - write me.
What I am preparing to do is to repace the old switches with new
momentary ones and see if that makes things better.

Standard remote control types. Carefully clean contacts with a tissue. There
are repair solutions (spray?) out there.
