Hello I have a manlift, the piloet valve which moves the machine
forward and backwards is broken. this part is no longer avaible. What
it does is move a lever on a variable displacement pump, up is forward
and down is reverse.

the input is + - 1.5 swing dc which operated an electromagnet which
controled the hydraulic valve which the moved this actuator.

Anyways, i could take this +- 1.5 vdc run it into a pic and use a
stepper, but that would be a lot of work for me. what other options
might I have. I was educated in electronics but have not do much in
the past two years so I am sorta out of touch.

thanks Greg

Have the 1.5 V trigger MOSFETs , or better yen an H-bridge, which
controls a DC motor, attaved to a gear and screw unit.

A triangle oscillator with a comparator and an RC servo would be the
simplest solution. The oscillator and comparator create pulsenfrom 1 to
2 ms width - the servo translates width to position.

Might be a bit dangerous though in case of loss of signal and so on. I
hope there is an emergency stop.
