Basically, the fiber optic lens will be an extension to the video camera lens so that light going through the fiber goes
directly into the video camera lens. We have several trees in our back yard and we want to look inside some of the holes
in the tree to see what is inside it. How to make a fiber optic light source would be useful to. Thanks for your time.

It is not possible to use one unique fiber to transmit an image of an object
more extended than a simple point.
You will need a fiber bundle with strictly parallel fibers. That is
something difficult to make yourself in your "garage lab", better to buy a
unit. The price will be rather high.

As Peter pointed out, this is not an easy DIY job.
Commercial ones are not cheap.See: http://www.mile-x.com/18fibscop.html
