Hi. I am revisiting an old High School project of mine and building a demonstrator sound effects box using the old TI SN76477N or SN76488N Complex Sound Generator chips. I managed to find a somewhat legible PDF of the sheet for the SN76477N but I can't seem to find one for the SN76488N. And I have no idea, what the differences are to the pinouts. The 88N is basically the 77N but with an added amplifier unit, so I need to know its specs to figure out how to handle the output. If anyone knows where I could find this sheet, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

The problem is that the 88N datasheet on that site isn't complete. It doesn't show the pinouts. I think it's for prototyping purposes since it says preliminary at the top.

Thanks guys! Now I have to start snagging parts. I had bought an SN76477N on eBay, which was supposed to be the full size wide original packaging, but the seller (in China) sent me the wrong one. They sent the narrow package new one which is not breadboard compatible. He was supposed to send me the correct one, but sent me the same wrong one again. So I'm just going to blow the $20 and get it froma US seller. Anyone in the market for a couple of narrow package 77Ns? lol. lol Basically I am going to be building the demonstrator unit from the SN76477N datasheet. I just needed this so I can save on extra components for an amplifier since the 77 doesn't have one. I will adapt the schematic from the 77 datasheet to the pinouts for the 88. I actually ordered an old 1980 version of the Radio Shack Engineers Notebook because it has a decent schematic for the 77N. The PDF one from TI is not very good and the values for a lot of the components, especially the Caps, are almost illegible. I really appreciate all the help.

nice work Martin :)

I didn't even know those styles of chips existed
