Does anyone know of a ADC that meets below specs?

* Daisy-chainable
* SPI
* 8 bit
* >= 100 ks/S
* 8 channels
* Single-ended
* Cost less than $5

You left out the most important parameter :(
What is the resolution you need?

when you say "daisy chainable", do you mean that multiple can be connected to the same spi bus?

ah, I see. It looks like it would require a fair amount more logic on the chip as well as more pins.

I'm not surprised the chip implementing it is not cheap.

but knowing exactly what you want may help people in the know help you.

googling revealed several alternatives, but the cost (even in quantity) of the ones I checked were well above your price point.

Hmm, I will have a look if I can throw in a SPI controlled MUX to select the correct ADC.
So much for elegant modular solutions :p
