Hello,

I'm setting up my new aquarium, and I've seen a lot of LED's on the market
the last few years.
Perhaps it's possible tu use LED not only as a nightlight, but more LED's
simulating daylight.
Now I think it's important to take some things into acount, like spectrum,
K,Watts & more ?
On another side I found this calculator giving me some for me applicable
lighting details:

Belichtingssterkte 5000 mW/m2 (don't know this in english)
Groeirendement 195 mW/W (Growing rendability)
Helderheids/hoogte faktor water 0.74 (clearity/height faktor water)
Beplantingsfaktor 0.40 (plant faktor)
Lichtkapfaktor 0.65 (lighthood faktor)
Verouderingsfaktor TL 0.95 (aging TL faktor)
Benodigd lampvermogen 56.11 Watt (required lighting)
Dit is 0.23 W/ltr en 140.28 W/m2 (this comes to)

Is there know how available on how to combine this?
How many and what type of LED's will I need to cover this ?
How can I control this dimming on a timeschedule ? PC ? or a simple DIY
circuit board ?

Hope to hear something here,

Best regards from Holland,
Rene

If fish need something approaching "natural" light, LEDs would
probably not be a good choice as they usually have a much narrower
range of spectrum then "regular" lighting.
