I know that people generally use LED drivers in battery powered projects to prevent light fading when the batteries get low and such. Would an LED driver do anything beneficial for a project powered by an ac to dc transformer? Like a wall wart.

I can't really think of any practical use of a LED driver in a transformer.
What do you mean by a ,"wall wart"?

I didnt think so. Wall wart, like the transformer that plugs directly onto the wall. Big fat adapter deal.

LED drivers do a lot more than stop the LED going dim as the battery voltage drops (but they can do that).

The most important thing they do is to prevent the current rising as the LED heats up. This can cause thermal runaway which is a great way to kill any semiconductor, but because of the way LEDs are used, they are especially subject to it.
