Hi,

Does any of you know about a USB device which can connect two computers
(PC-A and PC-B) together.

The device indetifies itself as a generic keyboard to PC-B and as a
virtual COM port to PC-A.

With the aid of custom software on PC-A pushing character data separated
by <TAB> to its virtual serial port, this data is entered into PC-B's
current application as if it was entered from the keyboard...

Thanks for hints and tips on where you can find / buy a gadget like this ;-)

One buzzword would be "Hardware Wedge". Wedge being the jargon for
the function that simulates a PC keyboard and allows data to be entered
in that way. Often used for barcode readers, scales, and (I think)
cash register applications.

Come to think of it, a software wedge (just a driver) that could read
a USB serial serial port would work if it could be installed on the
target system.

Also check out the target system's OS's support for access for the
disabled. There may be something already part of the package.

By the way that are good software that do that ?

Any free good software for that application ?

Software alternatives for both Windows and Linux would be good to know.
