Ask Verizon if they have any objections to having you do this. Their DSL Modem has specific registration codlings that are in their computer system. This allows the handshaking and communication you use as your ISP connection. If the Zoom Modem you have meets their specifications, and they can complete the handshaking communications with your equipment, the may be willing to let you switch. IMHO it probably won't happen!

The only reason this would not work is if the Fujitsu modem is a frame relay
modem. Most of the current DSL deployments are ATM. Verizon will upgrade you
from frame relay to ATM, but I believe it requires you to drop and re-apply
for service (you will probably receive a "free" modem in the process). I
used a Zoom ADSL X4 modem for quite some time with no problems at all. You
just need to configure the correct virtual circuit and select PPPoE or DHCP.
If PPPoE, you need to enter your Verizon user id and password. You might
want to check out the Verizon forums at www.broadbandreports.com
