Hi all,

I got a 16530A and a 16531A (without the service manual that is..) that
I need to install. Are there any connections necessary between those
two? I can see that the 16530A has four connectors J2, J3, J4 and J5
where J4 and J5 are connected by a ribbon cable and on the the 16531A,
there is a long ribbon cable that surely must be connected somewhere to
the 16530A?! I'd be grateful if someone had the time to enlighten me :)

The 16531A is the acquisition module.

The 16530A is the timebase module.

The timebase module needs to be in a slot
"below" the acquisition module.

For example if the acquisition module is in
slot "A" then the timebase module should be
in slot "B".

The 16500 mainframe can be configured with
up to four acquisition modules (slots A-D)
and the time base module in slot E.

The cable from the acquisition module just
above the timebase is connected to J2 of
the timebase module.

The cable from the acquisition module two
slots above the timebase is connected to J3
of the timebase module.

The cable from the acquisition module three
slots above the timebase is connected to J4
of the timebase module.

The cable from the acquisition module four
slots above the timebase is connected to J5
of the timebase module.
