a short and simple answer:

Through oscillations in the circuit...

works the same on TV Remotes, FM Radio's, IR Remote, TV Signals, Cellular Signals, Wifi Signals - they all just have different frequencies. I recommend further reading around some electronics websites, and a lot of youtube videos

Observe local regulations governing the operation of your own FM radio transmitter. You most probably will have to get a license. Otherwise operating such a transmitter may be illegal.

An FM (frequency modulation) signal is nothing more than a standard amplitude signal that it's frequency swings in accordance with the data to be transmitted. There is always a center frequency and the slight increase or decrease of this frequency is then converted in increase or decrease of voltage on the receiver.

you can read more about Amplitude Modulation (AM) and Frequency Modulation (FM) here :

you'll need a really tall antenna for that, something taller than a 5-floor building... regardless of what you have already purchased, FM signals work best without a lot of obstructions so if you're in a city, you'll have a big problem... Otherwise if you're on top of a mountain, then you can just hang the antenna on a tree but the antenna will need to be about a meter long.
Your transmitter won't be as portable because of the antenna.

and added to the above you will need a licence from the authorities who will allocate a frequency to you once they are happy with your system

and on that note we will close the thread
