Hi, I was hoping there was a way to use a program like Telnet or something like that to test a small 9 pin RS 232 serial printer using my PC
Here is what the printer is like:
http://www.omniprintinc.com/products/impact.htm
The challenge is that no PCs in my house have a serial data port. I do have 2 different USB>serial adaptors but I don't see how I could configure the data interface to the correct baud rate and parity for the printer when I am telling the program to use USB.
Also, I don't know how I would input the characters or lines of print that I want printed.
I am using Win 7 on 1 PC and 8.1 on the other.
Any wizards out there?

Thanks in advance.

A USB to serial device should show up as a com port. Any terminal emulator should allow you to set the port parameters.
