Hot Cathode vs. Cold Cathode tubes..

I've got an old LCD monitor made for IBM that uses HCF backlight
tubes, I cant find replacements for them anywhere..
From my research, you cant just drop in CCFL's in place because
the startup voltages and run currents are different.

What to do??

Anyone know of source for 360mm HCFLs? the OD of the tube is 5mm,
a bit thicker than the usial 3mm CCFL tube.

There are small HV ceramic capacitors on the secondary of the
transformer that help to regulate the current through the tubes. Might
be possible to change these and thereby get around the problem (at
least in principle) .
