Help with identifying vintage resistor value

given its age, i would say 47k 10%

473 is not a preferred value even for E192

What formula is used to read these values

picture 1: 61 ohm
picture 2: 1K ohm 10%
picture 3: 4.7M ohm 20%
resistor color code:
first band=first number
second band=second number
third band=multiplier
black 0
brown 1
red 2
orange 3
yellow 4
green 5
blue 6
violet 7
gray 8
white 9
fourth band:
gold 5%
silver 10%
no band 20%

What formula is used to read these values

the first 2 images show old carbon resistors

image 1) - 68 Ohm 10% tol.
image 2) - 1000 Ohms ( 1k Ohm) 10% tol.


the 3rd image shows 2 carbon resistors and a disc ceramic capacitor

top resistor 4.7 M Ohms ( 4,700,000 Ohms )
then 0.005uF disc ceramic cap
lower resistor appears to be a 150,000 Ohm (150k Ohm) 10 % tol but there is also a red band out to the right
not sure what that is indicating

That last band is either a reliability/failure rating or a temperature rating. I can't find the reference right now.

The item in my first posting is a

Sprague Bumble Bee Capacitor

I haven't had chance to check color values yet, but I am positive that one is a cap.

o, and I just bought the PACKARD-BELL 531 RADIO PHOTOFACT
Contains schematic and full parts list. I found one on net, but bad quality image. This is not a copy so should be able to read it

Just attatch a multimeter and set it to ohms

them color codes are basic numbers..takes me back lol..
