Filter in a USB cable. ..anyone know exactly what is going on here?

description says it uses electroluminescent lighting, so I imagine Eeyore is
correct that it's a boost power supply.

EL needs high voltage I think. [Never messed with it.] Needless to say,
I think this is nuts. I don't even like those damn LEDs, let alone
cables that glow.

I'm always looking for low EMI cables, so when I see what looks like a
transformer, I think filter, not freakin' glow in the dark!

I think it is a magick amulet from the Incas, if you activate it sun will
come up one hour earlier.

USB jacks ONLY carry a five volt source. No 12V sources are
available on the USB bus.

All you need for that is a decent screen/shield.

Many "fully" shielded cables also have a ferrite EMI trap/block on
them as well.

VGA cabling is a perfect example.
