exploding Chinese Lithium batteries?

I need to replace the lithium battery in my PDA.
Normal battery outlets get ~$40 for the thing.
Can get a Chinese one on EBAY for $10.

Anybody got experience with Chinese batteries?
I don't have a problem with 80% of the life for 25%
of the price. But I do want a reasonable runtime.

I hear about exploding Chinese cellphone batteries.
But I haven't seen any actual data comparing Chinese
exploding frequency with brand-name exploding frequency.
Sounds like a lot ot FUD to me; but would be nice to see
some data.

For all I know, they all come out of the same factory.
