DVD player plastic spindle is broken

Would anyone know where I could get the parts to repair the spindle
that spins the disk for a DVD player model GE5803. This is a 3 disk
player. It broke after just about 2 years of light use :-(

I was hoping this may be a generic component that is used in most DVD
players. Or maybe this is just wishfull thinking ;-)

Unless something has changed recently, GE does not sell parts or service
literature on their DVD players.

This is GE only, if they will sell the part. You will most likely have to
send them the player for service. Get in touch with their authorized
service people, and enquire about their service policy. It may be less
costly to replace the complete player.
