i am building a project and i have run in to a problem i test a diode before i mount it and reads ok put when i put it in it reads bad i take it out and reads good what could be causing that? thanks

Quite Often, You can't properly test a Diode "In Circuit".
Depends on What other parts are connected to it.

as the other responder said ... testing "in-circuit" is a problem because of the influence of other components
