I let a friend use this receiver and he stated the speaker wires touched each other and now there is no sound. Is this an expensive repair and does anyone know if there may be a fuse inside that maybe needs replaced/ Thanks in advance for any help.

If you are lucky, the overload caused a fuse to blow.

If you are less lucky, the output transistors blew in order to protect the fuse.

The former is cheap and easy, the latter possibly neither.

Look for an internal fuse, and keep your fingers crossed.

Thanks for the info. I pulled the case off and there were several fuses however they all appear to be good. Sounds like it might not be worth fixing......
