DC 15 seconds motor timer operated via push switch

Hello

I am new to the forum and know nothing of electronics!

I make automata - mechanical things.. and am looking for advice of where to start on making a push switch operated motor controller

I want it to do 15 rpm ish
time 15 seconds from push then switch off.
repeat pressing doesn't override first press..

Any help appreciated

Simplest thing for you would be an arduino which you can program with a modified version of C.
Other than that you'd need to make your own circuit to do so.

So you need the motor, controller, and an on-timer?
More details would help. Like supply voltage available, motor torque...what you are trying to do.

Hello, thanks for the replys

Right here is a vid of the automaton (unfinished) being run from a drill.. I calculated I need nearer 24 rpm


I have an acdc power adapter that outputs 3,6,9 and 12v I think

I have looked at some products and think I could use this kit

Seems rather expensive for a simple mechanism.

I would tend to go this way or similar.

Everything you need except power supply.(DC required...probably around 1 amp capacity or batteries to suit)

If you need many individual mechanisms as in the video, you could select just one motor gearbox arrangement, a power supply and a speed controller all with larger load capability and parallel up the mechanism.
That way it would always be in sync.

As we have no idea how you would go about building it we therefore have no idea exactly what gear to select other than to say it looks like very little power is required as shown.

A 555 timer module ( as M suggested) will give you your monostable run time.
You can build yourself or buy the same fron Ebay to suit a wide range of supply voltages and run times and most come with a relay which would connect to your motor/speed control for around Aus$4.00.
