clicker finder

Hey all,

Haven't really dabbled in electronics projects since highschool (lets just
say a long time ago) and I am looking to do a simple project for fun and to
get back into it a little. I thought a neat/fun little project to start off
with would be some sort of "clicker finder" because I am always losing that
remote to the TV! lol...

I was thinking just a little rf transmitter and receiver, doesn't need much
range, maybe 20 feet? I think there are already products like this on the
market, but I don't want to buy something, as that really isn't the point.
:)

Are there plans out on the net somewhere for something like this already? If
someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it!!

probably

www.google.com
www.ferretsoft.com

small device = small antenna = high freq = problems 4 u
big antenna = lower freq = less probs
small coil with many turns at low freq + short range = might be good
enough = ULF/ELF

ultrasonic = best bet perhaps

Get it, for $29.95 you won't be able to make one. But I doubt you'll be able
to do a RF circuit at all if you already have to ask in this group. There
used to be these key-chain beepers activated by clapping or whistling.
Much cheaper and you do not need a transmitter which no doubt gets lost as
well in your mess. :-(

keep searching

What about the ancient 'keychain finders' that whistle back at you? No
transmitter to lose, and they were really clever designs with a minimal
number of active parts and low battery consumption...
ISTR they only used a 4000 series chip - quad nor or something?

Thomas
there you go. easier than ultrasonic or ELF.
