Hi all,

I am looking for some low cost solutions for a RFID reader that I want to
include in a design. I do not need the relative long distance reading, but a
few cm distance is OK for my allplication.
Is there any kind of chipset tha I can use for it?

I am familiar with the design of UHF circuits so I am aware of the RF
circuit problems that can arise in circuit layout:)

Hi,

if you are using a mcu in your circuit, the RI-R6C-001A from TI will
be the best choice. You have to provide four i/o-lines from the mcu
and that's it. Also, you should implement an antenna-network, which
can be obtained from the application notes in the TI-RFID section.
The RI-R6C comes with a so16 package.

best wishes.

(I did a chip design for their battery-powered tags, which have long
range :)

Hi All Thanks for the answers.
I was away for a few days, and especially the TI chip looks promising to
me;-)
