I’m about to change all capacitors on a vintage stereo from the late 70’s.
I have a question about one of them, a 1500uF 35v capacitor. It has a ”hat” on it with a cable connected to ground. Think its there to pevent some hum noise. Or do anyone have a clue?
The capacitor has a diameter of 22.3mm, so the hat will not fit the new capacitor, cant find the exact size even if I look for higher voltage.
Can I skip the hat, or maybe modify it to fit the new one?
