At a flea market, I picked up a rather large capacitor of some type
and I'd like to find out if it's suitable for Tesla coils. It is
cylindrical, with 3" length and 1.5" diameter and the body itself appears to
be ceramic. The ends are terminated in screws and nuts could easily be
added. The value is .01 MF and 20 KVDC, "Corson Electric". It sort of
looks like a "doorknob" cap except longer and not bakelite housing.
Possible Tesla coil candidate?

Thanks

Quite probably. Assuming you paid a flea-market price, it's probably not the end of the world if it
doesn't survive...!

You could sell it for the big bucks on eBay. Maybe $10 to $20.
