Can anyone explain this terminology: [5v+]—(100k)—[D+]—[D-]—(100k)—GND

Hi there. I want to build this project to charge up my phone from a dynamo while on the move.

And someone has modified it so it charges his iphone 3gs

The mod he described as

" [5v+]—(100k)—[D+]—[D-]—(100k)—GND "

can anyone kindly explain what this means?

I'm a newbie, but would love to get into making circuits and this one would be ideal for an upcoming bike touring trip.

This is meant to be built into a USB cable:
[5v+] = +5 V wire of USB cable
(100k) = 1st 100 kOhm resistor from +5V to D+ wire
[D+] = D+ wire of USB cable
[D- = D- wire of USB cable --- do not make any connection between D+ and D-
(100k) = 2nd 100 kOhm resistor from D+ wire to GND

You ought to verify the output voltage and current yourself, just to be sure you dont spoil your iphone. See if it matches your charger.
