I have a small flashlight that clips on a hat brim, I opened it up and there were two 2016 stacked.

Both are 3V, and I read in the archives that the difference between the 2032 and the 2016 is "thickness (3.2 mm versus 1.6 mm) and energy capacity (225 milliampere hour versus 90 milliampere hour).

Can I get away with using one 2032 instead of the two stacked 2016? Looks like a win, even has more energy capacity.

thanks,

Rob

You could get one of these and solder the wires to the light. You will then be able to use two 2032 cells and benefit from the added capacity. It also has an on/off switch. You could use some dual sided tape to secure it to your hat brim or use velcro for removability...(is that a word?)
