Hi everyone,

I recently got a hold of some brushless motor drivers, im wondering if they are compatible with another motor I could have from a friend.

These IC's were discarded at work and so I snatched a box of them:

Allegro A4931: http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1792985.pdf

This is the motor, three phased, sensored. He pretty much said I could have it, but I dont want to just take something if it's incompatible anyway.

I haven't done too much with this type of motor yet, I know there are many types of them too, so seems good to ask. It's a good opportunity to learn more, while having some fun doing it..

Can anyone confirm or deny it? :)

Best Regards

Those RC motors do not have Hall commutation sensors on them.

Well, the one I linked is sensored somehow..

If not with hall sensors, what type is it?

It's got the three phase pins and a six pin connector at the back of it.

In my experience I have found one cannot even buy the parts for the price of the finished, tested, guaranteed , delivered item. Much less the headaches that go with the build when things don't work the way they are supposed to.
