Seems you can't download a bios upgrade anymore unless you pay more
than an old board is worth or am I missing something?

My Ami board has a piece of software I can use to check the website and
flash the bios whenever I like, its like a virus checker update thingy,
looking for the latest patches...?

I spose it depend on ur board and the type of upgrade?

it depend, check ur motherboard manufacturer website.

Award, used to be able to get them if you had the bios string.
Manufacturers don't want to know about anything old.
3 - 4 years old.. is old.

How about post the brand & model of ur motherboard.

Here is couple of links that u could use, but remember, in Bios
updates/upgrades, there is NO SUBSTITUTE/CLOSE ENOUGH, it must be for 100%
for ur motherboard or it stuff up completely.

I wasn't aware that any motherboard manufacturer charged for BIOS
upgrades. I've always downloaded them for free.

Who is the maker and what model and how much are they charging ?

Please let us know so we can feel free to avoid their product in

upgrades. I've always downloaded them for free.

Seems you can get a *late* bios upgrade for an old board, some time
back tried it for my old PC chips board (super socket 7) I discarded
their e-mail, and as I said before it cost probably more than the
board is worth.
