I'd like to use these LiFePO4 battery cells to power a canned crystal oscillator. The clock draws 20mA. The cell is 3.2V and has 8mOhm impedance@1khz. The reason I'm using this cell is because it's a very low noise voltage source.

The only thing is that the current draw from the battery must remain lower than 30mA, even when the clock is switching its output.

Will bypass and reservoir caps achieve this? If so, any general guidance on how to calculate the correct value caps to use so that the draw at the battery is no higher than 30mA?

Any advice or pointers to helpful materials would be much appreciated.

Thank you.
