I got 6 of these in a mixed lot and wondered if anyone knows what they are? Sorry I don't have better photos. The writing on the sticker is "U44/47" at one end and "U48/42" the other. The are about 12" long. When I take the red and black caps of the end it is like a clear cable with a black spot in the centre with the black insulation surrounding it.
Thanks

Same here, the caps are just pre-install protection.

Thanks very much. I thought small whip type antenna at first but when I took the caps off the ends they are very clearly not. Optic fibre was my 2nd thought too but really not clued up enough to be 100% sure. I thought I'd ask here and am sure you guys are correct. Do you have any idea what such short lengths would be used for?

The Jaguar XJS I once restored had them, can't quite remember the use though.
That was some years ago.

Cool! That was very close to the last thing I'd have expected them to be used for. Just shows...you really do learn something new each day!
Thanks.
