to understand the FCC Rules & Regulations on radiators.

I'm quite sure they're illegal. I don't know whether somebody is using
them.

There is a legal way to prevent cell phone usage in a particular area --
shield it so that the signals don't get in. I'm not sure exactly how much
shielding is needed, but ordinary metal window screening might work if
you're not too close to a cell phoen tower.

I'm a little surprised they'd give an M.S. degree for that. It's too
simple. She may have done something fancy with multiple bands or the like.

I'm quite sure they're illegal. I don't know whether somebody is using

I should add that it is *very* easy to locate the jammer. If you want to
engage in jamming, don't expect any privacy. One person with a
direction-finding antenna can generally find such a thing in minutes.

Probably because they don't know any better, or do know and are so full of
themselves that they don't care.

You come off as the latter type.

I'm a college teacher, and I deal with problems like this by giving the
students a bit of education about basic politeness. Websurfing and games on
laptops in class are a much bigger problem than cell phones.

Having a cell phone out in public view during a test is strictly forbidden,
regardless of whether it rings; they could be texting answers to each other.

This one is hand held. Good for restaurants when you want a quite
atmosphere.

LOL, thanks anyway. I'm not worried about the law, I sold cell phone
jammers for about three years without any trouble. I'm just trying to
cut out my engineer and build them myself. I found what I needed
through a couple different search engines. God I love the net, nothing
is sacred anymore.
