Alarm clock radio - Speaker POP!

Greetings all!

I have an old favorite alarm clock radio which has very good sound quality. However when it turns on every morning, it makes a startling "pop" sound followed by normal music volume. Is there some type simple electronic repair for this problem? - for example some passive component(s) that could simply be added at the speaker terminals?

Some high power audio amplifiers use a relay to isolate the speaker until the amplifier output has settled down. You could perhaps fit a relay to do this job if there is room. A gently turned on MOSFET would do a similar job. The problem may be that an electrolytic capacitor in the radio supply has gone low in capacity letting the supply rise at a much faster rate than it should. If this is the case, there may be more than normal hum.
Is the clock valved (tubed) or transistorised and do you have a cicuit?

Duke, thanks for the response.
The clock is solid state/transistorized. I do not have a schematic so thats why I was hoping for an "add-on" solution at the output/speaker.
There is no audible "hum".
