Adjusting convergence w/o remote TP71H95 Toshiba-is it possible?

Hey all,

I got this set running by replacing a bad MPU and now need to adjust
the convergence. Unfortunately, I don't have a remote for this set
that gives the functions I need to adjust horizontally. I have an
older Tosh remote but it's lacking in the keys I need. I can adjust
vert convergence with "fav" keys but need PIP channel functions for
horizontal (which this remote doesn't have). I tried using the keys
on the set, but none seem to do the job. Ayone know a way to do this
w/o a remote? I think it can be done in service mode, but again, I
probably need the pip channel keys. I tried a couple of universal
remotes (RCA and Sony remote commander) and none seem to have this
function. Many thanks,

Alex

Order the correct remote for the set then enter the setup mode for
convergence.

Use a universal, all you need is the mute key and the number keys. To enter
service mode, on the remote press mute twice and hold the 2nd time, then
while holding press menu on the set's front panel. You should get an S in
the right upper corner. Then press menu, you should see the service
adjustment menu, press 7 to get into convergence. On your remote the 3 key
changes colors, 5 key toggles between line adjust mode and cursor move mode,
2,4,6,8 are used as arrow keys. (4 left, 6 right, 2 down, 8 up,) when
adjustment is complete press 7 twice to save, then power the set off to exit
service mode.
