I am doing a takeover and the customer has a ademco 4110 panel. Is this a
normal panel and can it be reprogrammed normal? If so does anyone have the
manuals, im sure jim and bass etc do. I would like to program this baby
today for the customer and seeing that its too early to call ademco for a
login and password to their site, I was wondering if someone can email me
the manuals.

schigger two thousand three x at yahoo dot com

Sounds like 4110XM of some flavor... I sent you the manual.

Well he obviously doesn't want to stay on the "good" side of Honeywell
or ADI.

I'd like to see him post his login for Napco and DSC, now that he
thinks the whole world should have access to the software protected
behind the login.

I'm not surprised when he shows disdain
for alarm dealers here...

Let's qualify that. I show disdain for /some/ alarm dealers. I have the
utmost respect for those who deserve it.
but he drop ships Ademco...

Correction: Ademco drop ships Ademco. I just sell it.
I plan on bringing it to ADI and Ademco's
attention (for what it's worth)...

You'll get about as far as Olson did when he went real world with me --
calling distributors and manufacturers to complain that the big, bad meanie
is (hold your breath!) selling their products online. They called to ask me
who was the idiot from Canada.
Maybe more of us should...
ADI insist they are wholesale only but they
drop ship for this asshole every day...

I send them between 10 and 20 orders a day. Have fun whining.

That's a knee jerk reaction, Graham. I really don't think you'd want to see
that here either. I'm not computer savvy enough to know whether that was
really him or not but if it was, it's pretty disappointing. I'm not
surprised when he shows disdain for alarm dealers here but he drop ships
Ademco. This contempt for the very hand that feeds him surprises me. I plan
on bringing it to ADI and Ademco's attention (for what it's worth). Maybe
more of us should. ADI insist they are wholesale only but they drop ship for
this asshole every day. I'd much prefer they sell to the public themselves
(at Bass' prices of course) and then he'd have no market at all. Problem
solved.

Thanks for the chuckles, Bob. I'd recognize your pompous writing style
anywhere. Between 10 to 20 orders a day? Wow, that's impressive!
Unless of course it was between 20 and 30 last year.

Mike?

That's a knee jerk reaction, Graham. I really don't think you'd want to see
that here either.

I was being sarcastic Mikey.
I'm not computer savvy enough to know whether that was
really him or not but if it was, it's pretty disappointing.

It was, and yes, it is disappointing. That actually blew me away -- I
think he was trying to one-up me or something. I had already given
the gentleman the password via email, once I confirmed he was in the
trade.
I'm not surprised when he shows disdain for alarm dealers here but he drop ships
Ademco. This contempt for the very hand that feeds him surprises me.

I know. He had already "let the cat out of the bag" some time ago.
Certain links in his FAQ had the user/pass in the URL. I chose not to
bring it up here, because calling attention to it would have *really*
let the cat out of the bag.
I plan on bringing it to ADI and Ademco's attention (for what it's worth). Maybe
more of us should.

That isn't a bad idea, but I'm sure employees from both companies read
this forum. This is bad for Honeywell now because -anyone- with the
smarts to search Google for "Ademco password" can get it. If
Honeywell changes the password, it is going to disrupt business for a
lot of alarm dealers. Ultimately it will cost Honeywell lots of money
in toll-free phone charges and technician time answering all the new
password requests.

ADI insist they are wholesale only but they drop ship for
this asshole every day.

I doubt it's everyday. Fat Ass would like us to believe that I'm
sure.
I'd much prefer they sell to the public themselves
(at Bass' prices of course) and then he'd have no market at all. Problem
solved.

There are plenty of online shops that carry the same merchandise as
shit-for-brains, at lower prices. Don't worry, the way he conducts
himself and his business affairs will soon catch up to him.

Between 10 to 20 orders a day? Wow, that's impressive!

Not too shabby.
Unless of course it was between 20 and 30 last year.

Last year it was >20 orders per day split between all distributors. I now
give ADI alone more sales volume than I used to do with all sources. If you
don't believe me, ask your rep.
Cognitive Dissonance.

Nice sig line. :^)

Is that what it was?? :))

It was, and yes, it is disappointing. That actually blew me away -- I
think he was trying to one-up me or something. I had already given
the gentleman the password via email, once I confirmed he was in the
trade.

I think *Ademco* should be the ones to determine that, don't you?? Part of
their application process includes having to provide the company's dealer
account number.

I know. He had already "let the cat out of the bag" some time ago.
Certain links in his FAQ had the user/pass in the URL. I chose not to

That's right Graham. When-ever you see someone blatantly breaking the rules
make sure you keep your "yap" shut... :))

That isn't a bad idea, but I'm sure employees from both companies read
this forum. This is bad for Honeywell now because -anyone- with the
smarts to search Google for "Ademco password" can get it. If

What Bass did was both unprofessional and in contravention of the access
agreement. Unfortunately, ADI also requires alarm companies in States with
Licensing Statutes to be... you guessed it... *licensed* in order to
purchase from them. Bass seems to circumvent rules where-ever he goes.
Mind you, a number of wholesalers will also deal direct with end-users.
Tri-ed has accounts set up here for Telus and Terasen Gas. Neither install
alarm systems for anyone but "in house".

I doubt it's everyday. Fat Ass would like us to believe that I'm
sure.

Of course he would... Just like he'd like you to believe he *installed* and
serviced alarms for "27 years"...

There are plenty of online shops that carry the same merchandise as
shit-for-brains, at lower prices.

Uh-huh... Online Dealers are listed here:
http://www.yoursecuritysource.com/dealers.htm

Other online stores:

http://worthdist.com
http://smarthome.com
http://www.norcoalarms.com

Don't worry, the way he conducts
himself and his business affairs will soon catch up to him.

He's been doing this for like six years now. The only thing he's "caught"
is heart problems...
